raw truth cafe

2381 E. Windmill (in Smith's Plaza) (on the corner of Eastern and Windmill)

Vegan, Raw

The name of this vegetarian café refers to the fact that nothing is cooked at temperatures any higher than the 100-plus degrees it takes to make flat breads and pizza dough. And yet, reasonable facsimiles of pizza (made of dehydrated sprouted bread and fermented almond cheese) and lasagna take their place alongside the expected salad choices.

Saturday 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

gandhi india's cusine

With a vegetarian menu of more than twenty dishes, Ganhi India's Cuisine offers something vegetarians might find most restaurants to be lacking: variety. One of their fortes is the clay oven that makes a variety of their dishes by baking them a very high temperature to absorb maximum flavor. Must-haves include the Navrattan Korma (veggies, cheese and nuts in creamy sauce) and clay baked Eggplant Bhartha. The Aloo Tikki is a spicy potato pancake that's a delicious appetizer. Warning: you'll need a lot of water for this fiery food! They offer a variety of sampler dishes for the Indian cuisine novice. Several dishes- including but not limited to Kadhi Chole, Malai Kofta and Aloo Palak are suitable for a Vegan diet.

Bringing the flavor of the Mediterranean to Las Vegas, Paymon's introduces diners to the region's cuisines: Greek, Persian and Middle Eastern. A testament to the skill of Paymon Raouf, the restaurant is typically rewarded the top spot among ethnic foods each year in Las Vegas' various newspaper polls. Traditional dishes such as moussaka and fesenjan are served with flair in the dimly lit cafe and are accompanied by not only a wine list, but a tea list as well; desserts such as baklava or tiramisu shouldn't be overlooked. Enjoy the wonderfull tastes and benefits a piece of organic fruit has to offer!

The human body, at peace with itself, is more precious then the rarest gem. Cherish your body, it is yours this one time only. The human form is won with great difficulty, it is easy to lose. All worldly things are brief, like lightning in the sky; This life you must know as the tiny splash of a raindrop; A thing of beauty that disappears even as it comes into being. Therefore set your goal, make use of every day and night to achieve it. ~ Tsong Khapa ~
