licensing requirements for massage therapy
and bodywork
this is the latest information we
have for those states which have enacted state-wide licensing
or registration laws for massage therapy and/or bodywork.
Several other states have considered, are considering or have
passed, but not enabled legislation. In the states not listed,
massage therapy is either totally unregulated or regulated
by a local government, i.e. city or county.
for more information about the National Certification Board
for Massage and Bodywork Therapists (NCBMBT) or the National
Certification Exam (NCE) click
here. If you are nationally certified you should check
out their locator to ensure that you are listed and that your
email and phone number is current. They also list the continuing
education requirements for recertification and costs.
